Namibia on Horseback - 2022

In October 2022 I rode 300km across the Namibia desert with Namibia Horse Safaris www.namibiahorsesafari.com and www.aardvarkdafaris.com. As well as ensuring I stayed on my horse, my biggest concern was what cameral kit to take and what opportunities I would have to get some shots in that magnificent and ever changing desert light.

I ended up taking an SLR which I could only access in evening and a Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II. This camera is tiny but packs a serious punch and was perfect for fitting in my saddle bag and therefore being accessible to me all day. It is also responsible for my favourite shot of the whole trip - the Dolerite ridges in the Swamp River Valley with two loose horses in the bottom right hand corner of the image. It was taken from horseback. I have also included a few others from the trip.
